Support Australian Wildlife(Demo)
WIRES Wildlife Rescue has been rescuing and caring for wildlife for over 30 years and is the largest wildlife rescue organisation in Australia. WIRES currently has 3,000 volunteers involved in the rescue and care of wildlife and we have a Rescue Line that operates 365 days a year assisting the community to help native animals in distress. WIRES responds to more than 90,000 rescues each year to rescue koalas, wombats, kangaroos, parrots and many other unique Australian species.
WIRES is the largest wildlife rescue organisation in Australia and we receive around 170,000 calls for advice or rescue help to our rescue line annually. WIRES is not government funded and we rely on the generosity of the public to be able to provide a rescue call centre and to support our volunteer rescuers in their work saving the lives of Australian animals.
WIRES provides a Rescue Line that people can call when they find a sick, injured or orphaned native animal. Our volunteers can quickly be notified via our rescue systems and animals can receive essential veterinary assessment and treatment where required. Ongoing care costs such as food and medication can be subsidised to ensure the best chance of survival and release back to the wild.
To provide help, care and treatment for all native Australian wildlife in distress and ultimately to rehabilitate and release back to the wild to maintain biodiversity in the Australian bushland.
